Fr. J.S Thekkumkal CMI authored a new book on Blessed Chavara, by name “Chavarayachan Keralathinte Purohithapunyam”, in connection with the ‘Year for Priests’. Fr. Thekkumkal brings out the great contribution that Blsd. Chavara rendered to the Syro Malabar Church, as priest who modeled and moulded the Kerala Church, and clearly advocates that as per the  instruction from Rome that every local church can have their own model-priest, like John Maria Viyani, Blsd.
